A phased genome assembly for allele-specific analysis

Our manuscript describing the new genome assembly is now on bioRxiv

Using long-read sequencing and Hi-C data Raúl was able to put together the first, full allele-specific genome assembly of the diploid parasite Trypanosoma brucei. We are cetain the new assembly will open the door to study allelic gene expression heterogeneity.
