Inter-chromosomal transcription hubs shape the 3D genome architecture of African trypanosomes

Our paper using MicroC to study the T. brucei genome organisation is out

23.12.2024

We are very excited about the publication of the work of our PhD student Claudia Rabuffo. In collaboration with members of the Allshire and Matthews labs (University of Edinburgh), Claudia generated a much improved T. brucei genome assembly and implemented MicroC to study the T. brucei 3D genome architecture at high resolution. What she found was a complex pattern of DNA-DNA interactions with chromosomes organized around polymerase specific transcription hubs.
